John York, you just don’t get it
Dear “Dr.” York,
You’re a filthy selfish greedy pig and I f**cking hate you. Your
idea of moving the team to Santa Clara, which you must have thought up
after a few dozen shots, is outlandishly stupid and makes me angrier
than ever. This is obviously to make more money. Just for some extra
dough you are willing to throw away a team history and name. What would
the 49ers be called? The Santa Clara Techies? That sucks. I understand
the 49ers are like a corporation, you must make a profit, but it is
also the corporation’s job to please the stockholders (if your to dumb
to figure it out the stockholders are the fans).
Where are your morals Dr. York? Where does money come second to
you? When do you listen to the fans? The 49er history goes back further
than you can count. You say you know the history. In a personal letter
I received from you about 2 years ago you said “have been a 49ers fan
since before high school when John Brodie was quarterback and I was
watching the NFL while growing up in Little Rock, Ark.” That’s about as
much BS as every draft pick ever drafted who says they grew up rooting
for the team they got drafted to. You’re not a football guy, so don’t
act or try to be one.
The Santa Clara move would destroy the after taste of Joe
Montana, Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, and even your boy John
Brodie. Talk to those guys, see what they think, I’m sure you’ll be
surprised. If you are going to stay owner fine, I don’t like it but
don’t see any way around it, but please give up decision making to some
one with an idea of what they’re doing.
