John v. Denise
I have been asked many times why this site is called dumpyork.com and
not Dump Denise, or dump-debartolo-york.com. Denise Debartolo is the
actual owner of the 49ers. The Debartolo Corporation went to Denise and
her husband when the great Eddie D was not being so great and got in
too much trouble.
It is my belief that if it were just up to her, Denise Debartolo would
sell this team. After her father passed the Pittsburgh Penguins down to
her in the late 80's, Denise kept the team for three years before
selling it. I believe she would be just as happy selling the Niners,
taking a huge profit, and moving on.
Which brings us back to her husband John. Regardless of my beliefs,
John York is the face of the Niner organization. He is the one going to
the owner's meetings. He was the one to make the decision to fire
Mariucci. He was the one who extended a 4-year contract to his yes-man
Terry Donahue. York is the face of the 49ers. And that is the face that
makes us all cringe in fear. Maybe next Halloween we can distribute
York masks, because as 49er fans, is there really anything scarier?
Please Mr. York, do the right thing! Sell the team! Be a loved man
again! We will hold no grudges! Just sell the team, make your money,
and be a proud former owner of the 49ers! Please, please, please!?!? We
will even throw you a parade down Market Street. You will make
everybody happy and be rich at the same time! Your sons will
understand. You will be a hero. Please, John York, please sell the team!
